Kimmy Schmidt was a beautiful 7 year old Beagle who came to us from Palm Valley Animal Center. She began having epistaxis (blood coming from her nose) right after coming to us. We tried to treat her symptoms for a week to no avail, but she was still a happy, sweet girl who loved to cuddle. The next week, we got some answers via CT scan. While they were not what we wanted, they allowed us to make the best decision for Kimmy. She had a nasal tumor growing into the bone and potentially affecting her brain as well. She would have continued to decline and had already begun having more trouble breathing. We made the decision to euthanize her while she was still under anesthesia so that she would not have to feel any pain. We are so thankful to her foster family, who gave her a wonderful home to spend her final time in, and for all of her supporters. Above all else, we are happy to have known Kimmy even for a short while and are very glad she became a Beagle Buddy.
