Odie – Adopted –

Odie was adopted February 4, 2017! He made sure we wrote “must give belly rubs daily” into his adoption contract. His new mom doesn’t mind a bit.

His bio: Odie is an 8 year old male Beagle. He was found as a stray and wound up at the Dallas shelter. It wasn’t his first visit unfortunately; he was actually adopted from there at 1 year old. His family never came for him but we can’t imagine why – he is the best boy! He is very sweet natured and friendly. He gets along great with other dogs and is a pretty relaxed little guy. He’s started coming out of his shell enough now that he will play with toys, which is a hoot to watch! He is a cuddlebug and LOVES to snuggle on the couch right next to you. He’s a wonderful companion and loves to be near his person. He’s a smaller Beagle. We’re not quite sure when his feet became the way they are, but it was not noted on his first visit to the shelter and seems to have been this way for a while. It doesn’t seem to bother him at all and he gets around great! We suspect it may be tendon laxity that causes the foot to flex more than usual, but given his age and that he seems well-adjusted to his gait we are not going to pursue surgical correction. In fact, the way he walks is one of the many charming things about him. We lovingly refer to him as “Freaky Feet.” 🙂 He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
